We did it!!!! We finished painting our bedrooms in our house. I had the colors picked out from the HGTV HOME by Sherwin-Williams Perfectly Polished Color Collection way in advance, and I just was waiting to finish all the main rooms in our house before we tackled the bedrooms.
For Marloe & Sorel’s room, we decided to go with a super pretty light pink called Romance (HGSW2067). It is a very feminine pink, but not overwhelming. I seriously almost painted their room all white, but I decided to push myself out of my comfort zone and try something new. I am SO glad that I did, because the girl’s room is now my favorite room in the house. The Perfectly Polished Color Collection made it easy to mix and match colors throughout my home that I normally might not be open to trying.
I let the Romance color be the inspiration for the décor/theme for their room. I decided to go with a desert/Moroccan theme and have been loving mixing and matching pieces that flow nicely with the room color. I was even able to take inspiration from my chosen Color Collection to ensure the décor and accessories aligned with the color palate. I am waiting on Marloe’s big girl bed to get here, and some lighting & décor pieces to complete the room. But otherwise, I am obsessed with how it’s coming along & can’t wait to see the finished result!
For our master bedroom I went with Krypton (HGSW3366). The original wall color was a VERY dingy brown. I hated walking into our room, and couldn’t wait to finally paint the walls! When Colten was away on a business trip, I painted the walls myself in just a few hours. I used HGTV HOME by Sherwin-Williams INFINITY Paint & Primer. I picked up the color in a satin sheen finish from my local Lowe’s. It was such a quick process, and the paint looked great after ONE coat!!!!! It dried very fast, and I was able to move my furniture back in the room that same day.
I LOVE how the color turned out, and it looks awesome against our dark grey mod, velvet headboard. I hung a wall shelf above the bed & placed some light wood picture frames on it. The light wood frames look stunning against the Krypton wall. The color is so relaxing and inviting, and truly makes my bedroom a solace. I bought a white duvet and some fodt white pillows to compliment the pretty grey/blue wall. I’ve said it before, PAINT CAN MAKE SUCH A DIFFERENCE.
When Colten and I looked at homes before buying ours, we were always drawn to the homes that had a fresh coat of pretty paint. Even if the house wasn’t nearly as big or nice, the fresh clean paint made it seem much nicer. If you’re looking to change things up in your home, but don’t have the budget/time for a major renovation… I recommend simply painting the walls, it makes a world of difference.
