8 Morning Habits that Will Change your Life

I'm a total morning person. I didn't use to be that way, but by following these steps below they slowly but surely became habits and part of my morning routine. I wake up feeling energized, and ready to take the day on. Obviously it isn't easy to add these 8 things into your mornings all at once, but try to follow at least 1 or 2 of these steps! I promise it'll make a difference in how you feel over all! 

NO SNOOZE

Ill be the first to admit that sleep is one of the best things. Try to get to bed early, so that the snooze button isn't even an option. After a few days of going to sleep at an early hour, you will be able to wake up without even thinking of pushing the snooze button. I try to get to bed around 9-10pm, so that I can wake up around 6:30-7, to get to the gym around 8. If I sleep in at all, it ruins my whole morning routine, and I won't end up going to the gym!

STRETCH

Stretching in the morning has several health benefits. It helps relieve stress, improve circulation, and help with muscle and joint flexibility. When I stretch in the morning, it calms my mind, and I can think more clearly. I am less sore from my workouts, and feel able to take on the day more easily. People that stretch or do yoga in the morning are happier & healthier people!

DRINK WATER

60% of your body is made up of water. After sleeping for 6-8 hours without water, your body needs to be replenished! Drink drink drink! Have water by your bed side, so you can drink some right as you're waking up.

BREAKFAST

Honestly I am not sure how anyone can purposely skip breakfast. I literally wake up starving, and want to eat! I usually wait until I get back from the gym, around 9:30am to have my breakfast....but I never miss it! Eating breakfast kickstarts your metabolism, and when you go without breakfast, you're more likely to snack throughout the day. Give your body the nutrients it needs, by eating a healthy well rounded breakfast! My favorite breakfasts are whole wheat french toast, cranberry oatmeal, and yogurt with granola/berries!

VITAMINS

I rarely ever forget to take my vitamins. I definitely believe in the power of vitamins, as long as you are taking the right ones. I try to eat pretty healthy and well balanced meals, but sometimes I fall short. That is why I depend on my vitamins to fill in the areas I may be missing. SUPPLEMENTS

Supplements and vitamins can basically be the same thing. But in this case I am referring more to products for muscle recovery, improved performance, and immune support. I have a protein shake every morning or night, because protein helps to build muscle, and maintain it! I also mix a drink of Forte Elements Amino Acid!  I mix it into ice cold water or my refrigerated water bottles right after the gym. Its lemon-lime flavored and individually wrapped for on the go convenience, which is perfect for my hectic schedule. I keep a few in my diaper bag, so that I can mix one up when I need it. Its soooo good for your brain to turn off the phone, and take a moment each day to read. When Marloe is still asleep in the morning, I take that opportunity before I get out of bed to read a few chapters of my favorite books. No matter how much stress you have at work, in your personal relationships, or countless other issues faced in daily life, it all just slips away when you lose yourself in a great story. A well-written novel can transport you to other realms, while an engaging article will distract you and keep you in the present moment, letting tensions drain away and allowing you to relax. MUSIC

Music also can help to relax your body, mind, and soul! Upbeat and good music helps you to start your day off on a positive note. I love playing music in the morning when I am feeding Marloe her breakfast. It makes the house feel happier, and starts our day off right. Music is known to lessen stress, and who wants less stress in their life??? ME ME ME. Also some of my favorite morning music right now:
