Cooked Peaches & Cream

When I think of Fall I think of changing leaves, sweaters, Starbucks, and...PEACHES. My grandpa has an amazing garden and orchard and every Fall we get given A LOT of peaches from him. Here is an idea of just how many peaches we get... (and other fruit but that doesn't matter)

A stop to grandpas, is better than going to farmers market! I love this time of year, and all the delicious fruit and vegetables he gives to us. Most of all though, I love his peaches, and my favorite way to eat them (other than biting right into them) is making PEACHES AND CREAM, I usually just peel & slice the peaches and pour heavy whipping cream over them, but this time I tried something a little different. I cooked the peaches!

Here is AMAZINGLY delicious recipe.



6 peaches

1/2 cup brown sugar

6 tbsp butter (NOT MARGARINE)

1 cup heavy whipping cream

1/2cup sugar

2 tsp vanilla extract

Cut the peaches into slices. (I usually skin them first, and you can easily do that with a ripe peach if you run it over warm water) Then in a medium skillet melt the butter on medium heat and once it is completely melted add in the brown sugar and continue to stir until the sugar is completely dissolved into the butter. Add peaches and stir. Cook peaches for 2-3 minutes. 

***Whipped Cream: In a mixing bowl mix together the whipping cream and sugar with an electric mixer or whisk. Slowly add in the vanilla. Mix until the ingredients turn into a more whipped cream like texture!

Serve the whipping cream over the cooked peaches and enjoy!
