Love for the Water

This post was sponsored by SwimWays as part of an Ambassador Program for Influence Central and all opinions expressed in my post are my own.

Marloe has always loved being in the water, and that started at such an early age. I was worried that she would eventually grow out of it, and start to fear or not feel comfortable in or around water. So I made sure to take the necessary steps to get her always loving the water!

When Marloe was 5 months old we took a trip to Kauai with my family. Our vacation home there had a pool, and of course we would be at the ocean I wanted to find a floaty for Marloe that was perfect for her age. I went to Target and found the PERFECT floaty, and I knew it would make me (and her) feel comfortable about her being in the water. I purchased the Swimways Baby Spring Float, and packed it up nice in my suitcase. I couldn't believe how easy it was to travel with, and didn't take up much space at all.

SwimWay's is dedicated to water safety and believes in teaching children to swim while raising awareness for National Learn to Swim Day on May 20, 2017. Today I partnered with them to talk about why it's so important to teach children water safety!

I read an article on KidsHealth talking about water safety, and I wanted to share this quote,

"Pools, lakes, ponds, and beaches mean summer fun and cool relief from hot weather. But water also can be dangerous for kids if parents don't take the proper precautions. Nearly 1,000 kids die each year by drowning. And most drownings happen in home swimming pools. It is the second leading cause of accidental death for people between the ages of 5 and 24. The good news is there are many ways to keep your kids safe in the water — and make sure that they take the right precautions when they're on their own."

Isn't that so scary? Kids shouldn't fear the water, but instead be comfortable in it, and that all starts by getting them used to it at a young age. Marloe always swims with her SwimWays Baby Spring Float, and soon I will be putting her in swim lessons. SwimWays wants parents all over to celebrate in their own way for National Learn to Swim Day on May 20, 2017! They hold National Learn to Swim day on the 3rd Saturday in May, each year! As pools open across the U.S. in May it is an opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of water safety are teaching children to swim. I think its awesome that SwimWays is a leader in not only teaching kids to swim, but promoting water safety.

I would hate if anything ever happened to Marloe, because she wasn't properly educated on learning to safely swim! All kiddos, need to be educated, and its up to us parents to take the necessary steps to teach them! SwimWays can help! Learn more here.

Now I have multiple colors of the SwimWay Baby Spring Float, and we take one with us on all our water adventures! Remember to be smart and get your kiddos comfortable with the water!
